Jat, Ate Ella and I were all sleepy and a bit antsy about cutting our Tarlac stay short for various reasons - work, enrolment, school day. The few days we were in Tarlac were spent with the kids, relatives from both sides of their family, socializing (read: inom, pero konti lang), and free, unlimited internet. Haha. Right now, I'm back to my main goal, which is to lose weight. So I'm back to salad after binging in the Tarlac.
I also left my phone in the van during the long drive to Manila then QC.
Am so not in a birthday mood. I want to spend Wednesday in a coffee shop or at the Arcade. I'm also not up to celebrating over the weekend, but within the week I'll probably think of something...
I already got myself a birthday gift in advance, though, which is Fannie Mae. :)
Last year, Jat and I had a sort of dinner party for Arcadia at his condo, his idea. The ace cook that he is, he did most of the cooking. It was still awkward at the time entertaining friends since we'd been together only a little over a month, and a dinner party felt so grown-up and a bit formal. I endured the teasing - thanks to an accidental serving of canned Italian wedding soup. Haha. It was a lovely gesture, of course, and I loved the gift he got me. (The way to my heart is through my stomach and through a book haha)
It's been roughly 8 or 9 years since I joined the gang, and I'm glad I did. :)
Am I entertaining birthday blues? Not quite. Birthday blahs would be more appropriate. (I haven't counted my blessings yet, though.) I'm not particularly sad about anything, just occasionally ticked off that I'm waay off from doing what I want to do, which is quite simply, to write and teach. Other than that, I have no complaints.
I do agree with Aaliyah's declarative: age ain't nothing but a number. I think I'm stuck in Neverneverland. I don't wanna grow up just yet! Hehehe
Seriously though, I think my tabula rasa complex is contributory. I don't have solid memories to feel old about. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? Don't know though, but right now, I don't really mind. :)
